What do you think are the best guns and perks to use? I have to admit, I’m pretty addicted to MW2 at the moment, so i’ll let you in on my current set up.
I personally don't think there is a 'best' solution but I think these are some great combinations. Here is my choice for best perks and guns to use. Let us know yours by commenting below.

The Scar with an extended clip, improved stopping power, bling,and holographic sight are beasts in the game, secondary waepon i always have my shotty or my javelin to take out da choppers's
I use the barret 50. Cal with stopping power pro and sight of hand pro and steady aim pro with final stand as my death streak. My killstreaks are 4 kills care drop, 5 kills predetor missile and 7 kills support helicopter hope this helps very succesful myself. AUG BHAR with FMJ and Grip. PERKS:Bling, Stopping Power, Steady Aim. Killstreaks:+5 Predator Missile, +6 Air strike, +7Harrier, OR replace
+6 Air Strike with +11 AC130. The combination of FMJ and Stopping power allows for quick kills from almost any distance, and can take a UAV down in 3 seconds. The open sights of the AUG BHAR are easy to aim and see with, and help counter act the lack of an attached sight, aswell as the occasional EMP strike. The AUG has the smallest clip of the LMG's, but the fastest aim and reload of them, and with all that power, you conserve ammo well. The steady aim perk allows for more precise hip shots for those close range encounters and finishes oppenents quickly. This load out doesn't really require a secondary weapon, but I like to use M93 Raffica 3 round burst machine pistol, with Akimbo and FMJ. This is already a powerul gun with a decent range, but when you add the power of Akimbo and FMJ, with the precision of Steady Aim, it becomes an instant kill.

The reason i have Ninja Pro on pretty much every think is because you dont show up on them newbie Heartbeat Censors and your movement and foot steps are silent so people cant hear you coming.
If you are playing in small maps like skidrow i recommend you to use this...i call this class my dipping class lol....

No matter what game type played I always go into the game with an m4. The m4 is very accurate, hits hard, and the rate of fire is very fast.

** the perks really depend on the game type your playing. For hardcore you wont need the scrambler pro bcuz there is no radar to begin with.

My strat is to hang with a team mate and pick shit off.

Secondary: Spas-12, with red dot. (Used to be a shocking shotgun, but when they made the Model's range not as far, they gave the Spas a superhuman range. Can get kills from miles away with it.)

Killstreaks: Always, always use this killstreak setup, I promise you will get hundreds of kills!

(As soon as you get your Predator, sit back. You will usually get 1 or 2 kills with it, and hopefully get your Harrier. Then just wait for the Harrier to get the 4 kills needed, and boom, off you go with the AC130/Chopper Gunner.)
Search And Destroy Setup:
I usually play SnD with my clan, and this setup will only work if you have mates who will back you up. I still usually get the most kills however.
Primary Weapon: Riot Sheild
Secondary: Thumper
Equipment: Semtex, and Stun Grenades.
Perks: Scavenger
Lightweight
Commando
Playing this setup takes some getting used to, but when it works, its brilliant.
When starting, use the thumper to try and shoot the enemys spawn, you will hopefully get 1 or 2 kills, but its not always a given.
Then run to the usual chokeholds on any map. You know, the places where everyone ALWAYS goes to.
If you find an enemy then wait for him to get close (he probably wont stop shooting at you, like a knob), and either let your friends take him out, or do it yourself.
If your gonna kill him yourself, then when hes reloading or retreating, quickly throw a stun grenade at his feet, this will cause him not to be able to move. Now either follow this up by SPRINTING at him (they usually still wont shoot you because theyre stunned) and beat him down, or use your semtex, as he wont be able to run away.
Then walk over his now dead body with scavenger to pick up another stun and semtex, and move onto the next victim, repeating the process.
Try both these classes out. The riot one might not work out for a while, but its so much fun :)

I'm on LVL 50 and my total play time is like 22h 50m. When you have the M16 you need to put on Stopping Power, so you only need to put a single burst to get a kill. Same with ACR. Except with the ACR, you really need to unlock the shotgun and you get 150 exp. points a kill. But if you are a beginner you definitely need to start off with the default class First Recon. When you get create a class, put MP5K with Stopping Power, Marathon, and Commando. After you unlock the Rapid Fire attachment you NEED to get 30 kills and you will have the Akimbo MP5K and then you need to put on Steady Aim so you have better HipFire Accuracy. You will be on like LVL 15-20 and you will then dominate.
I personally like these three but i kinda suck at the game a little so ya...

Ive been playing since hte game came out, but i just recently starting taking it seriously. if you want to rank up, i recommend playing Mosh pit. it keeps the game interesting. if you are really good at headquarters, in mosh pit you arent playing against people who are necessarily amazing at it.

Ever since I played COD4 I was a fan of sub machine guns. In MW2 the UMP45 is the best sub machine gun and imo the best gun in the game. It is very accurate and packs a punch.

I love using the M16A4 since it practically instantly kills with one burst. Although I can usually hit my targets with all three bullets, stopping power allows me to strafe my enemies and still kill them with only 2 hits. The Holographic Sight allows for improved performance on the M16 by increasing its accuracy and allowing me to easily kill enemies from mid to long range, and I can effectively hipfire enemies from close range or just knife them. In order to compensate for my vulnerability to enemy air support, I have a stinger that I can readily resupply with scavenger. Claymores can be placed strategically near doorways and staircases for additional kills, and scavenger can resupply it whenever I need more. With ninja pro, I don't have to worry about enemy heartbeat sensors ruining my killstreak, and silent footsteps allow me to stealthily knife from behind. With this setup, I can acquire about 18-30 kills per match and my killstreaks can give me an extra edge or support my allies.

If you are big into search and destroy i highly segest that you use the SCAR-H it is a heavy tactil weapon that has acuracy acrost maps as well as power. the only down side is the fact that its clip is rely small but when you play SnD you dont have many enemys at one time so you dont have to worrie about the ammo so much

If you want to get about 40-50 kills a game I suggest playing on Domination. It is alright to camp as long as you do it correctly. Just protect your surroundings, stay calm and the tactical nuke will be with your powers in no time. These things get me a lot of kills:
For short-medium ranged maps such as Terminal, scrapyard highrise etc I use:

sometimes i change for a famas. i play hardcore only so stopping power and things are not necessary. but cold blooded is as alot of players playing hardcore have uav perk.
also i find harrier with pavelow gets 12 kills on average as both will hover above together. sometimes if feeling confident i will take care package off and put in a nuke.
i have another class of ump45 with marathon pro, lightweight pro and commander pro. very fast hard to hit me and get alot of stab kills.
i love the game im level 31, 4th prestige. dont think i will prestige again though. as lightweight and steady aim take forever to get pro.

i like the aug with grip: perks scavanger pro, stopping power pro and commando pro. the aug is very powerfull decent fire rate and awsome accuracy its like a cross between a lightmachine gun and an assult rifle. scavanger pro because i allways get to killstreaks and run out of ammo. stopping power for that extra punch and commando pro for no falling damage. i also like to use the ump45 silenced, m4a1, scar-h, tar-21 and acr all with same perks, all of these guns work well with the iron sights for me. and i also use aa12 extended mags as secondary.

Personaly, I hate the Scar-H its just dodgy i hate it. I much prefer the UMP-45 or FAL and Sniper rifle, Intevention fmj, And dont i repeat dont! Put silencer on invention it take alot of your range off

I've used numerous weapons in assaults, my fav. in assaults is the tar with bling heartbeat and silencer, and perk 2 as stopping power and perk 3 as scrambler and secondary m1014 with extended mag and fmj, but my all time fav. is ump45 bling with silencer and fmj perk 2 cold blooded perk 3 ninja or scrambler, look me up on ps3 im on 3rd prestige but went long enough to master the ak47,acr,ump and vector, and currently have 2 headshots away from having fall for 50 cal.

Find a good spot such as in skidrow behind the dumpster where the stairs are or in the tunnelwith the boxed in area.Use a akimbo weapon recomdend rangers or desert eagle. Be cool and dont camp all the tiime..find a area and secure it. Xbox name PlaneBearCrawl.

i use ump cuz its good for run and gun and the silencer helps so no 1 can see u on the map or hear the bullets. spas is good cuz its a 1 shot kill but u need to be close range. slight of hand is good cuz its quicker reload when in tricky positions. lightweight is cool for fast sprinting. or stoping power cuz u get better power on the shot. comando is great for quick meelee and wiv pro u cant die jumpin of a cliff

It amazing how many people use bling! What a waste. Get used to using the iron sights! Once you've mastered that no need red dot or holo sights meaning no need for bling.
Easiest/Best class for Team Deathmatch (in my opinion)
Scar - w/ either launcher or FMJ
Spaz shotgun - w/ grip
Scavenger pro if you're capable of long killstreaks.
Stopping power Pro.
Commando pro (only because im often jumpin down from places, saves time.
Killstreaks - Pred (5) Harrier (7) Chopper (11)
or swap pred for nuke.
42 killstreak on team deathmatch is my best with this set-up.
Well I normally play HC TDM so almost any gun has enough power to do the job. But mainly this is what i use:
Gun: ACR (silenced + Holographic sight)
Perk 1: Bling Pro
Perk 2: Cold Blooded Pro
Perk 3: Ninja Pro
Although that is what I mainly use,I have been experimenting with this and so far its pretty awesome:
Gun: MP5K (Holographic Sight)
Perk 1: Slight of Hand Pro
Perk 2: Lightweight Pro
Perk 3: Ninja Pro
The above setup is an extremely fast paced class and often catch alot of people off guard especially when jumping etc.
